This is a test of sorts, to see if this works well enough. I’ll probably leave it up, and I intend to write a little bit of bullshit prose, and maybe some poetry. Nothing too important, but I’m still making the webbed site, and I need a proof of concept.
O woe upon thine enemies, dost thou wish it? Dost thou wish for calamity to strike even thine worst of foes? O woe upon ye, woe upon ye who would wish calamity for calamity’s sake! O woe to the world, for ye walk upon her breast, and ye are evil, evil I say! O woe for humanity, that ye would wish calamity on thine worst of enemies! What should this bring you? What could this bring you? Woe! Only woe shall be brought upon ye! For what is the purpose of retribution? What is the victory in revenge!
Fear not, for ye need not wish it. Turn back, turn back and repent, for it is never too late. We are many in number, and our enemies the same: power, money, greed. We need not wish woe to even our most hated enemies, to even those who horde their gold, and drive us into poverty. No, we need not wish woe, but ye know as well as I that we cannot go on like this! Indeed we cannot! So rise up, but not to smite thine enemies! Nay, not to exact revenge, to gain retribution! No, rise up and take back your rights! Take back what belongs to you, and take it not for yourself, but for thine neighbor! Take it for the whole world! That each may own their rights, own the means of their survival! That each may be free, let us unite! That each may be happy, let us sing the proud songs of revolution!
Of future days I speak,
when workers are not meek!
When freedom is gained!
When through our efforts sustained,
The republic shall be!
—
So seek ye happiness!
So seek ye with finesse
The liberty ye have won!
And it is truly done,
when all the world decrees!
